Williamsburg Boys Only Able to Get to Two Games

The Williamsburg boys were scheduled to play three games during the week but were only able to get two as Thursday, Jan. 16 at Harmony had to be postponed until Feb. 10 due to bad weather.

The week started off with a 75-68 overtime loss at Curwensville on Monday, Jan. 13, and finished up with a 57-37 rout of Saint Joseph’s Academy on Friday, Jan. 17 as the Blue Pirates’ record moved to 9-5.

Against the Golden Tide, WHS held a slight 27-26 lead at the half before the two teams scored 19 each in the third and Curwensville had a 17-16 edge in the fourth to send the contest into extra time.

In OT, the Blue Pirates managed just six points while surrendering 13 to the Golden Tide.

Logan Brantner led three Williamsburg players in double figures with 15, while Ethan Reffner totaled 15 and Preston Isenberg hit for 12 on four made 3-pointers.

In the game against the Wolves, the Pirates jumped out in front early with a 19-5 lead after one quarter -- using that to grab a 32-14 margin at the half, then finishing off the fourth with a 13-7 score after getting outscored by four in the third stanza.

Sam Parks and Reffner each scored 12 points for Williamsburg, while Brantner recorded 11.
