The Claysburg-Kimmel girls basketball team finished the week with two losses to drop its record to 5-9 on the year.
The Lady Bulldogs dropped a 38-27 contest to Mount Union, and then fell 33-29 to Rockwood.
On Tuesday, Jan. 14 Claysburg fell into an 11-4 deficit after one quarter but bounced back with a 13-5 edge in the second to take a 17-15 lead at the half.
The Lady Trojans essentially put the game away with an 18-2 showing in the third stanza that had the Bulldogs in a 33-19 hole.
Zailee Bush and Bella Francona led Claysburg-Kimmel with nine points each as Francona hit three 3-pointers.
The Lady Bulldogs celebrated Senior night on Friday, Jan. 17 as Bella Francona and Erika Feathers were honored.
Unfortunately, C-K weren’t able to cap off the ceremonious night with a victory as Claysburg found itself down seven (14-7) after one and despite pulling within two (20-18) at the half, were outscored by three in the third.
Bailey Tipton connected on three 3-pointers on her way to a team-high 11 points.
Claysburg didn’t help its cause at the foul line as it managed to make just 2-of-10, while Rockwood hit 9-of-12.
