Cove Men Try for Governor

It was reported that two men with Cove connections were being considered for the Republican nominaton for governor: Judge Charles Williams of Williamsport, formerly of Roaring Spring, and D. Emmert Brumbaugh of Clayburg, state secretary of banking.
Cove area residents were wondering what happened to winter as the mercury climbed to 74 degrees and the grass was growing greener. Coal piles were remaining high as area residents didn’t need to fire furnaces nearly as often during the balmy weather. Most folks surveyed by the Herald were hoping for snow.
The Rev. Isaac B Kensinger of Fredericksburg, minister-teacher, was retiring after 40 years in the classroom. Ill health forced him to retire during January. He taught for the past 16 years at Henrietta School.
The Williamsburg Women’s Civic Club, sponsor of the new Williamsburg Public Library, selected Saturday, Jan. 28, for the formal grand opening of the library. About 1,800
