God intended to use Abraham's family (seed) to set an example for all people; to lead other people and nations to God, so they can also become His people and bring their worship to Him. Ultimately it would become Jesus, Who would accomplish this. But in the meanwhile there was David, also family, (seed) of Abraham, who became the shepherd King of Israel. He was truly the 'darling of Israel' and "a man after God's own heart". These are wonderful titles and accolades. Yet, even one such as David needed to take temptation seriously.
