Gladys D. Hoffner, 93, of Williamsburg, passed away Sunday morning Jan. 12, 2025.
She was born Nov. 14, 1931, along Clover Creek, in rural Williamsburg, daughter of the late James and Ruth C. (Marick) Laznik. On Sept. 9, 1974 she married Thomas J. Hoffner in Winchester, Va. He preceded her in death Aug. 8, 1987.
She is survived by a sister, Ann (Laznik) Benitez; a sister-in-law, Janet (Domitrovich) Laznik; a niece, Sue Hetrick (Brad); four nephews: James LaPorta (Pam), Joe Laznik (Kerry), Jeffrey Laznik (Racquel) and John Laznik; a great-niece, Christy Haney (Josh); a step-son, William Hoffner (Vicky); and special cousins: Carol Stern (Marty), Annie Marasco (Ralph), Greg Michelone (Lisa) and Steve Michelone (Kathy).
She was preceded in death by two brothers: James and Joseph Laznik; a sister, Eleanor Laznik; a step-son, John Hoffner; and two cousins: Ted and Barry Michelone.
Gladys was a 1949 graduate of Williamsburg Community High School. After graduation, she was employed at the Williamsburg Paper Mill, Sears and Central Bank. She was also the treasurer for the Williamsburg Municipal Authority and a local registrar for more than 40 years.
She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Williamsburg. Gladys loved spending time with family, friends and her shared pet, Sammie.
She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, embroidering, Sudoku puzzles and cooking.
Friends will be received from 5 until 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, (www.bolgerfuneralhome.com), where a vigil for the deceased will be recited. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Williamsburg, Father Aron M. Maghsoudi celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Williamsburg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Gladys may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 628 W. First St., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
