Even at a young age, Altoona native Jake Snyder was already showing his musical abilities.
He taught himself to play the piano, and his father wanted him to play the accordion.
Because the instrument was heavy for his age and size, Snyder’s mother would put it on a red wagon and pull it across town to his lessons.
Piano playing came naturally to him. Snyder had a gift where he could hear a song and then he could play it.
His wife Cheryl said that his whole being was in tune with music, and it was his lifeblood.
