Grace Lauren arrived at 12:30 p.m. New Year’s Day, her due date, at Nason Hospital, the hospital’s first baby of 2000. Weighing seven pounds nine ounces and 19-1/2 inches long. Grace is the daughter of Joseph and Apryl Miller of Saxton.

Two new members of Roaring Spring Borough Council, Richard Haupt and Dennis Igou, were sworn in on Tuesday afternoon by Mayor Paul I. Holsinger. Herschell “Pat” Varner was relected as council president.

Martinsburg swore in new councilman, Jay L. Guyer and incumbents Robert A. Carper and Robert C. Ritchey.
