Poultry Show Called Off

Herald of Dec. 26, 1924

From Dec. 26, 1974 and Dec. 30, 1999 Editions

The two-day convention in connection with the State Farm Show was called off by the state Poultry Association because of the poultry plague existing in many states. All cars, coops, crates and containers of live poultry from outside the state were prohibited, unless cleaned and disinfected under state supervision and proper certification. The ban was effective Dec. 24.

The Henrietta correspondent reported that a new road was to be built from Fredericksburg to Martinsburg during the summer of 1925.
