Roaring Spring
Judith L. Dodson, 79, of Roaring Spring, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday afternoon, Dec. 15, 2024, at her home.
She was born Oct. 9, 1945, in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late William E. and Alice G. (Bartlebaugh) Talbert. On Oct. 5, 1963, she married Paul R. Dodson at the Foot of Ten Bible Church, Duncansville.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Paul of 61 years; two daughters: Jayme Miller (Rod) of Roaring Spring and Dana Jameson (Todd) of Urbana, Md .; a son, Brian Dodson (Michelle) of Franklin, Tenn .; five grandchildren: Benjamin Miller, Brittany Lauria (Michael), Macie Soler (Andrew), Isaac Dodson and Elijah Dodson; two great-grandchildren: Silas Dodson and Adriana Lauria; a great-grandchild expected in March; two sisters: Hazel Nearhoof and Linda Lennon; and a brother, Ronald E. Talbert (Mary).
She was preceded in death by four sisters: Marian Dubbs, Mary Jane Redinger, Dorrie Bennett, and Betty Dubbs; and three brothers: Thomas R., George E. and William E. Talbert.
Judy was a 1963 graduate of Central High School and a proud graduate of the Altoona Bible Institute. She owned and operated Judy Dodson's Beauty Salon out of their home in Roaring Spring for 15 years, retiring in 1996.
She attended Foot of Ten Independent Baptist Church, Duncansville for many years, where she was very active with the children's ministries.
From 1973 until 1978, her husband, Paul served as the pastor for the Mill Creek Bible Fellowship. Judy was instrumental in leading the church's youth programs.
Judy loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, whom she taught many valuable lessons about her Lord and about life.
She also enjoyed praising her Lord through music and sang with the Rainbow Singers women's gospel group.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg and from 10 until 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at the Foot of Ten Independent Baptist Church, Duncansville, where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor David Huston will be officiating. Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
