The Martinsburg Borough Council approved the 2025 budget totaling $1,055,810 during its meeting Monday night. Alongside the budget, council members adopted the 2025 tax resolution, maintaining the same real estate tax millage as in 2024, permitted under Act 51 of 2019.
The tax rate for general purposes remains at 1.967 mills, or $0.1967 per dollar of assessed valuation, effective January 1, 2025. Additionally, the council approved ordinances setting the per capita tax for 2025 at $5, the earned income tax for 2024 at 0.5%, and the local service tax for 2025 at $52.
