Road Project Again Boosted

Improvements of the Piney Creek highway between Martinsburg and Williamsburg was the top subject before the Good Roads Association. The suggestion of building with state and county assistance was made, with emphasis on the importance the road would be to the area farmer. Cooperation came from more than 400 members, whose aim was to reach 1,000 enrollment, extending to Altoona.
Robert Mock of Roaring Spring was badly scalded about the face and hands with acid while at work at the paper mill.
Rev. and Mrs. William F. Yates were settled into their new home, the Church of God parsonage at Roaring Spring.
The PRR offered a 10-day round-trip excursion to the Nation’s Capital from Martinsburg for $10.75.
In preparation for the holidays, “Wear Ever” aluminum roasters were available at Martin’s in Roaring Spring for $3, $4 and $5.95.
