Northern Bedford wins the semi-playoff game and moves to the district championship. The Panthers knocked off Meyersdale 30-14.
Player of the Game: Ben Clark had 31 carries for 170 yards and 3 touchdowns. Clark made a huge accomplishment of hitting 1000 rushing yards this season. Clark stepped up big time this season even though the Panthers lost senior running back Adam Johnson last year.
Play of the Game: in the second quarter, the Panthers pulled out a fake punt. Aaron Bowers threw the pass from the 50-yard line to Connor Donaldson for a 60-yard gain to put the Panthers on the opposing 20-yard line. The Panthers then scored by a rushing touchdown by Clark to put NBC up by 3 touchdowns.
Unsung Heroes of the Game: In the second quarter, Alex Kochara kicked an onside kick recovered by Wyatt Clouse. This play set the tone for the rest of the game for Northern Bedford.
The Northern Bedford Panthers play Windber for the District 5 Championship Saturday, November 9, at Somerset at 6:00 PM. This is the 3rd year in a row the Panthers have played in the championship and the series is tied 1-1.
