Central High School's Kate Dunn and Zoe Grill teamed up to win the District 6 2A Doubles Tournament winning the second straight title for the Lady Scarlet Dragons. They represented the district at the state tournament in Hershey on November 1 and 2 where the fell in a tough 3 set match to Masterman's Rena Liu and Sophia Piastaras in the class 2A first round of state play 7-6,3-6, 6-2.

Dunn and Grill were doubles partners all of last season. Coach Shaun Coppersmith said ,"they got comfortable playing together again and made a good run. Once we saw the seedings for the tournament we knew they were going to have their work cut out for them to try and get to the playoffs as we feel they got a tough draw." They got seeded #5 which put them on the same side of draw as the #1 seed. They began by beating the #12 seed from Westmont 6-2,6-4, Next they played the #4 seed from Bishop McCort and came up with a 7-6, 6-2 victory. Next up was the semifinals where they had to play the #1 seed Marley Ratchford/Lydia Paskowski from Central Cambria. Coppersmith felt this was the best match they played during the entire tournament and they came away with a 6-3,6-3 win to make it to the championship match against #3 seed Allie Morgan/Taryn Ream from Central Cambria. Dunn and Grill were well prepared and started fast during the match taking the first set 6-3. The second set was extremely tight and very long. Dunn and Grill were perseverant and went on to pull the set out 9-7 in the tie breaker and claimed the district doubles title. The girls along with Central's District 6 singles champion Julia Ritchey were formally recognized for their accomplishments at the Spring Cove School Board of Directors Regular monthly meeting.
