C-K Bulldogs Defeat Vikings in District 6 Quarterfinal

In their regular-season meeting, Claysburg-Kimmel dominated Glendale, winning 47-0. But Friday night’s District 6 Class 1A quarterfinal at Dr. Roy F. Baker Field told a different story.

The fifth-seeded Bulldogs faced a much tougher fight against the fourth-seeded Vikings, with both teams trading scores through most of the game. Claysburg-Kimmel managed to secure a 32-22 win, propelled by two touchdowns from Mark Lattieri, who made a notable return from injury.

Claysburg-Kimmel’s victory boosted their record to 7-4, earning them a spot in the semifinals against top-seeded Bishop Guilfoyle next week.

With the Bulldogs leading 9-7 near the end of the first half and facing third-and-15 at the Glendale 23-yard line, quarterback Mason Campagna connected with Remington Diehl on a crucial pass to keep the drive alive.

Campagna was electric on the field, rushing for 143 yards on 23 carries, including a 32-yard touchdown. He also threw for 134 yards and a touchdown on 5-of-13 passing, with one interception.

Despite his recent injury, Lattieri contributed significantly with 95 rushing yards on 20 carries, scoring two key touchdowns on runs of 17 and 14 yards.

The Bulldogs’ offensive line was instrumental, paving the way for a 249-yard team rushing effort.

The Bulldogs’ defense forced two interceptions—one each by Landon Woods and Jacob Herline—and recovered two fumbles.

Nathan Fee nailed field goals from 23 and 30 yards, adding essential points for Claysburg-Kimmel.

Records: Claysburg-Kimmel (7-4), Glendale (6-5).

Claysburg-Kimmel will go against Bishop Guilfoyle in the semifinals on Saturday.
