Roaring Spring
Grace Rebecca Stiffler, 93, of Martinsburg, passed away peacefully at the Village at Morrisons Cove on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024.
She was born Sept. 20, 1931, in Hopewell the daughter of the late Martin V. and Myrtle (Gordon) Golden. She was united in marriage to Jack G. Stiffler March 29, 1948 and he preceded her in death March 31, 2004.
She is survived by a son, Daryl, husband of Nancy (Olbert) of Fredericksburg. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Rebecca, and a grandson, Michael; and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Helen Sue (Golden) Groh of Apex, N.C. and H. Pauline (Golden Eichelberger of Saxton; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by the following siblings; Louella, Robert V., Julius M., Renna V. (Golden) Graf, Vera M., Carl M., and Chet Golden.
Grace was employed at Cove Shoe Factory for 26 years and Nason Hospital for 13.5 years. She also continued to work after retirement for an area doctor as a housekeeper and a dog sitter.
She loved spending time with her family, singing at church, and cooking. She was always willing to give a helping hand to those in need. Her smile and laughter will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to have her in their life.
She was a member of the Roaring Spring Mennonite Church.
Friends will be received from 1 until 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, in the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring (www.thompsonfh.com), where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Interment will be made in Greenlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Grace's memory may be given to the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department, 808 East Main Street, Roaring Spring, PA 16673.
