Betty Louise (Bishop) Brumbaugh, 89, of rural Williamsburg, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, Oct. 27, 2024, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 28, 1935, in Curryville, daughter of the late Orlo and Lavenia (Wineland) Bishop. On April 10, 1954, she married Mervin Grover Brumbaugh at her parents' home in rural Williamsburg.
She is survived by her husband, Mervin, of 70 years; seven children: Doretta Chencharick (Mike) of Ramey, Darrell Brumbaugh (Connie), Dale Brumbaugh (Denice), Dwayne Brumbaugh (Sue), Dorcas Johnson, and Dwight Brumbaugh all of Williamsburg, Denise Fawks (Bryan) of Altoona; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, David Bishop of Roaring Spring.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Abbi Brumbaugh; a son-in-law, Robert Johnson; and two brothers: Robert Bishop and Harold Bishop.
Betty was a 1953 graduate of Williamsburg High School. She was faithful member of Heritage Baptist Church, rural Martinsburg.
She loved spending time with her family and using her sewing machine. Betty also enjoyed baking (she made the best angel food cake), cooking, crocheting, flower and vegetable gardening, and canning.
Friends will be received from 10 until 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, at Heritage Baptist Church, Martinsburg, where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Mark E. Biter will be officiating. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
