Stiffler McGraw Engineer John Clabaugh discussed with Williamsburg Municipal Authority Members the lack of communication between Cove Forge and the authority. The authority asked for a capacity letter from Cove Forge, which has yet to be received. Clabaugh sent a letter to Cove Forge architect and others about the instantaneous water demand for the campus. Following this, a letter was sent to Woodbury Township making them aware that a letter was not received and the required certificate was not issued from the authority, which could hinder an occupancy permit from Woodbury to Cove Forge.
Clabaugh said the Authority needed to know how much water would need to pull at any minute to make sure the authority could keep up with demand; if not, they would need to install their own fire water tank and, possibly, a pump.
Both Borough Manager Joe Lansberry and Authority Treasurer David Myers contacted local municipalities regarding a base rate for both water and sewer – currently Williamsburg’s is $85 – with $25 a month sewer and $60 a month water. Both Alexandria and Freedom Township were contacted.
Authority Member Daryl Cole asked when a raise would be necessary and would hope to get costs for the next meeting.
Myers said he would like to keep the base price of both to below $100 a month. Lansberry said it is necessary to raise rates to “cover costs.”
The authority was well below both Alexandria and Freedom Township – no further discussion was held on the topic.
