Experiencing God's Discipline

I came across a Sunday School lesson I had taught some time ago. I think it has lessons for me and for us. The text is taken from the Book of Lamentations, 3:19-40, written by Jeremiah later in his life. By this time he is an old and broken man. His prophetic words and he himself have been rejected by his people. Israel has been captured, then scattered by the Assyrians. Babylon, under King Nebuchadnezzar, has destroyed Jerusalem, the Temple, the nation of Judah, and carried many away into captivity.
