BPW to Recognize Two Events

The Martinsburg Business and Professional Women will be recognizing two events occurring during the month of October at their next meeting on Thursday, October 24 at 5:30 p.m.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the third full week is known as National Business Women’s Week.

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Ashley Gay Vocco, Victim Services Program Director of Family Services, Inc. will be speaking on the services they provide and ways they serve the community.

Martinsburg Mayor Richard Brantner Sr. will be presenting the Martinsburg BPW with a Proclamation for National Business Women’s Week in honor and recognition of working women.

In 1938, President Herbert Hoover was the first president to issue a letter recognizing NBWW and the contributions and achievements of working women. The weeklong celebration has helped to promote leadership roles for women and to increase opportunities for their advancement professionally and personally.

Business and Professional Women of PA is also offering three webinars during the week that are open to all to join virtually. The webinars will cover the following topics: overcoming domestic violence – empowering women to rise above adversity, women’s financial literacy, and building bridges for cross-generational communication. More information can be found at http://www.bpwpa.org and select events.

The members of Martinsburg BPW welcome any woman who is looking to join an empowering and supportive group that will help you grow personally and professionally. The meeting on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at the Terrace Café of Homewood in Martinsburg. Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by our guest speakers and business meeting.
