Awards Presented at DAR October Meeting

The Adam Holliday Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution met October 6, at the Blairmont Country Club for the South Central District Meeting. Guest speaker was PSSDAR State Regent Marguerite Fritsch.

Awards presented by SC District Director Edyth Sarnoff to the chapter were as follows: Eastern Division First Place for Outstanding Electronic Media Coverage, Eastern Division DAR Project Patriot Committee Outstanding Military Support to Brooke Army Medical Center USO Warrior and Family Support Center, Outstanding Service of DAR to Library Outreach Committee, Conservation Committee, Fort Roberdeau Tree Giveaway, and Red Ribbon for Chapter Achievement Awards. Individual awards went to Eastern Division Vice Chair Dani Felty, Chapter Regent Michelle Shank, and Chapter Librarian H. Jean Sinal for Outstanding Service to the Library Outreach Committee.

On October 2,2024 a rededication ceremony was held of the 1938 DAR Bronze Plaque honoring Chapter Patriot Adam Holliday at the H.L. Green Building on the “Diamond” in Hollidaysburg, the site of Holliday’s first log cabin. A reception followed at the Mayfield in the Capitol Hotel.

The chapter is very grateful to be recognized by our U.S. Congressional Representative, the Honorable John Joyce, M.D., who included Constitution Week and the Adam Holliday Chapter in his Official Congressional Record Remarks read on the House Floor in Washington, D.C. on September 17, 2024.

“Service to America” donations were monetary funds for Hurricane Helene Relief Fund.
