Altoona Symphony Orchestra Presents "Romantic Classics"

Led by Maestro Nick Palmer, ASO’s Season 96 Opening Night concert will feature two of the most celebrated romantic works in classical music on Saturday, October 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the Historic Mishler Theatre.

The powerful and triumphant Brahms Symphony No. 1 will captivate with its depth and emotional intensity, highlighting Brahms’ mastery in symphonic composition. Audiences will also experience the virtuosic brilliance of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto performed by ASO’s beloved concertmaster, Genaro Medina. His performance promises to bring both energy and elegance to one of the most cherished concertos in the violin repertoire.

Additionally, the evening will include the World Premiere of Arnold Rosner’s Scherzo for Orchestra, a unique piece that brings excitement and intrigue to this already remarkable program.
