NES&L to Build PNC Park

A local company will have its hand in building the new home for the Major League Baseball’s Pittsburgh Pirates. New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. Inc. recently was awarded a $7.6 million contract for structure precast work for PNC Park, which is scheduled to open in April 2001, at the start of the baseball season.

Leah Davis, proprietor of Village Art Glass in Huntingdon, has arranged a display of her works in stained glass as the “Artist of the Month” at the Morrisons Cove Home.

The Northern Bedford Lil’ Panther junior high football squad ran its three-season winning streak to 10 games with a 30-18 win over visiting Chestnut Ridge on Thursday, Sept. 9.

The Central High School Band opened its 1999 competition season in line form by winning first place and several other top awards in the first event of the year last weekend.

Four weeks after most school students went back to the classroom for the new school year, Williamsburg students will be returning next Wednesday, Sept. 22.
