Northern Bedford Girls Soccer Beats Tussey

The Northern Bedford County girls’ soccer team notched three goals in the first three minutes of play and cruised on to an 8-1 win over the Tussey Mountain Titan girls.

“Our girls were ready to play,” Panther Coach Marcus Yeatts said. “They played with great energy in the first half and did a great job pressing and winning the ball. Our team defense was solid, only giving up one shot in the first half. Our attacking players were really dangerous. They were flying to the ball and then were very unselfish in possession to create chances. We need to carry this momentum into our next game against West Branch.”

Hannah Yeatts came out quickly, scoring less than a minute into the game. She went on to grab assists on two other goals. Alyssa Yeatts notched a hat trick for the Panthers and assisted on another goal.

Ava Helsel blasted two goals of her own and assisted on another. Yasmin Miller also chipped in with a goal and an assist.

“Mayleigh Ritchey was great on defense tonight in a difficult assignment,” Marcus Yeatts said.

The Panthers moved their undefeated run to 2-0. Northern Bedford had the game under control at the break, up 5-0.

Yeatts gave kudos to Tussey Mountain.

“They were not a bad team at all and we were aware of that coming into the game, “ he said.

Karrah Husick notched Tussey Mountain’s lone goal.
