Annual Benefit Auction for the Clinic for Special Children and Central PA Clinic

The 27 Annual Benefit Auction and Bake Sale and Friday Night Rib Dinner will be held on September 13 at the Morrison’s Cove Produce Auction. 

The auction is located at 4826 Woodbury Pike, Roaring Spring Pa. 

On  September 13 will be the rib dinner which will start at 4:30 p.m. until sold old. 

The dinner will feature Hatfield’s ribs and 800 will be prepared.

They include homemade baked beans, homemade mac and cheese, homemade dinner rolls, and a choice of coleslaw or applesauce.

All items for the auction can be previewed at this time and you can buy freshly made doughnuts ice cream and coffee also this evening. An ATM will be on site Friday and Saturday.

The Saturday auction starts at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast sandwiches, soups, barbeque chicken, fresh-cut fries, hand-rolled soft pretzels, subs, sandwiches, and freshly made baked goods are just some of the foods available for purchase.

Something new this year at the auction will be 18 baseballs auctioned off. 

Whoever buys a ball will play in a softball game in two weeks with the date to be announced. These will be auctioned off in Block 1. 

Also, this year products made by Bluebird County Workshop by children who are patients of the clinic will be sold.

The clinics will be accepting any donations monetary or otherwise up until the day of the auction. Please call Herman Nolt at 814-329-8349, Elvin Stauffer at 814-793-3630, or Mervin Martin at 814-793-3529. All donations are tax-deductible.

On Saturday at approximately 11:30 or 12:00 representatives from the Belleville Clinic and the Central PA Clinic in Strasburg will speak. 

Organizers of the auction would like to thank all the previous year’s sponsors and all those who donated anything. Special Thanks to Sheetz for sponsoring the drinks and candy, Bedford Farm Bureau for providing the charcoal for the Chicken, Hatfield Ribs, and Cove Lumber for the tents. 

Folks from Lancaster, Union County, and Cumberland are expected to attend. The auction is open to all, not just plain folk. 

Some items in the auction are tools, a buggy,  furniture, shrubbery, pumpkins, and hanging baskets just to name a few. Handmade quilts will also be a part of the auction. 

Carrier testing will also be available this year. The Plain insight panes (PIP) will be used and will be done at a very affordable price. Anyone who is concerned they may have something in their genetic background may have this done this is not just for plain folk. 

Last year $181,000 was divided between the Belleville Clinic and the Strasburg Clinic.
