Friends of The Martinsburg Community Library Continue to Assist

The Friends of the Martinsburg Community Library is a local organization that was first established in 1977. Their objective is to provide financial support to the library through memberships and fundraisers and to assist the library with their ongoing programs and events.

Recent fundraisers have included used book sales, Bedford candy sales, and Hoss’s Community nights. Quilt and basket raffles have also been held. The funds raised from these events along with memberships have been used to purchase the new library sign outside and assisted with the purchase of new bookshelves as well as other needs identified by the Director of the Library. The Friends have also recognized the library staff and volunteers during National Library week held annually in April.

The Friends have approximately six meetings per year to plan and organize our fundraisers and events and all Friends are welcome and encouraged to attend. If you would like to become a member of the Friends, please stop by the circulation desk to obtain an application. Membership starts at $10 per year. Our next meeting is Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 6:30 at the library.

Thank you to all past, present, and future Friends of The Martinsburg Community Library.

Your support is very much appreciated.

Susan Blanchard

FOL President
