Prayer Walk

The annual prayer walk organized by The Southern Cove/Yellow Creek ministerium is a highlight of the year. This year, over 120 people gathered to bear witness to their Christian faith and tap into the power of prayer before the first day of school. This event has grown from a small group a few years ago, to the large gathering we witnessed this year. In 2020 and 2021, less than 30 people attended the prayer walk each year. Since 2022, participation has grown from 85, to 100, and on to 120 plus in 2024.

The Southern Cove/Yellow Creek ministerium is a group of Christian Pastors serving in the Northern Bedford County School District. 12 congregations and their pastors cooperate to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Christian principles expressed in the Bible.

The group plans and supports religious and educational programs that are spiritually beneficial to citizens in the Southern Cove and surrounding areas and partners with the NBC school district with things like Religious Release and the annual back to school prayer walk.

The ministerium also supports student led and Fellowship of Christian athlete events at NBC like 5th quarter events, See You At the Pole, and Thon. Ministerium congregations and pastors have supported NBC music and theatre, sports teams, and other extra curricular events by praying with, speaking to, and providing meals and snacks. We are very grateful for the mutually beneficial relationship we have with the NBC administrative team.
