Central Golf

Central’s golf team is in the Laurel Highlands League and is coached by Robbie Keith, who has been the head coach for 17 years.

Last year’s record is 24-7 overall and 24-6 in the league.

Returning Starters and Letterwinners are Bryton Barnes (12), Cody Clapper (10) and Ben Hartman (10).

Other returning players are Cortlyn Hetrick (12), Tyler Gach (12), Bryson Brooks (12), Marah Dickson (12), Brooks Matthews (10), Cameron Yingling (10) and Kyle Gach (10).

Newcomers are Hunter Keith (11), Tristan Ritchey (9), and Ty Matthews (9).

“We have a group of players who were at the golf course all summer putting in the work,” Keith said about their strengths.

A concern is that they only have a couple of players with tournament experience.

“Those players will really need to step up to help the untested players,” Keith said.

He said if they can use the regular season as good practice for the playoffs, they can finish with a solid season.

“Getting better throughout the season and hitting our peak when it matters most,” Keith said about the team goals.
