Williamsburg Community Farm Show Kicks Off

The Williamsburg Community Farm Show kicked off Saturday with the arrival of livestock trailers, antique machinery and tractors, food vendors, and vehicles loaded with an array of entries like produce, baked goods, photography exhibits, sewing and quilting projects, and crafts. Hailing as the largest fair in Blair County, the Williamsburg Community Farm Show serves to bring the community together to celebrate agriculture and offer families the opportunity to experience the carnival, agricultural exhibits, and free entertainment throughout the week.

Sunday featured a variety of events including the crowning of the new Williamsburg Community Farm Show Queen, the youth rabbit show, the horseshoe pitching contest, the Blair County Antique Auto Club car show, and the straw bale throwing contest. Monday was celebrated as Youth Day and showcased a petting zoo, the milk drinking contest and kiddie tractor pulls. A highlight of the week was the youth livestock show that was held on Tuesday. Kids ages five to twenty-one exhibited their pigs, lambs, goats, and cattle and will sell them Friday evening at the Youth Livestock Auction. Wednesday included more free, live entertainment as well as the celebrity milking contest. This evening (Thursday) will feature the all-time favorite Williamsburg Community Farm Show Agricultural Parade which will begin in the field beside the Cenveo plant and finish at the farm show grounds. Friday is the final day for the Farm Show and will culminate with the mini tractor pulls, the youth livestock auction, and fireworks.
