South Woodbury Twp Plans Golden Rule Bridge Dedication

A resident attended the monthly South Woodbury Township Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, August 6 at 9 a.m. to request they develop a resolution for blighted properties.

He was concerned about a property that was falling which is a safety concern.

The supervisors will look into this matter after obtaining some more information.

A financial report submitted by the Southern Cove Volunteer Fire Company was not accepted by the supervisors and will take their questions to the fire company meeting for answers.

Once this is cleared then the funds from the township will be released to the township.

Bedford County Planning Review fees have increased. Subdivision requirements will be according to how many parcels of land are being reviewed and charged accordingly.

A dedication ceremony will be held for Golden Rule Bridge on Thursday, August 22 at 10 a.m. Jesse Topper will attend the dedication as well as a guard rifle salute team. This bridge will be dedicated to veterans who served their country in this area. The location is 8080 Golden Rule Road, New Enterprise Pa. 16664.

PennDOT provided the supervisors with a copy of the Transportation Improvement Program which updates problem bridges for the year 2027. Some funding may be provided for bridges on this list. South Woodbury Township does have some on this list.
