SCPR for August Tractor Pull August 17

A successful tractor pull with 148 hook-ups was held on Saturday, July 20, and was completed without getting rained out.

A new fryer was requested as a backup for the fall show in the Southern Cove Power Reunion’s kitchen and one will be purchased for $1,200.

The tractor to be given away at the fall show will be taken to the Bedford Farm Bureau and various tractor shows in the area. Ticket sales are ongoing for this and other prizes to be awarded on the last day of the show which is September 20-22 at 4 p.m.

Tickets are being sold for a gun raffle that will happen on September 22 at 3:30 p.m. There are eleven guns and a $150 gift card to be raffled. Tickets will be available at the next tractor pull on August 17 or from any club member.

A new clause will be added to the rental contract that will include a fee for renters who do not clean up trash or put items back in their original place.

The grounds remain available for rental and applications are being taken for next year’s rentals.

Call Judith Ott if you are interested at 814-932-6166 or email at Judithott12345@gmail.com.

Foster Wineland would like to be a major sponsor of the fall show.

They requested more space to set up displays and are willing to pay for the usage, to which the board agreed.

Fred Mellott is working on food vendors for the show. If interested, please call him at 814-766-2703.

Melanie Clapper is working on new apparel for the fall show. The new colors this year are gray and blue.

Scott Electric offered to work on a grant to switch the lights on the grounds to LED.

Greymont of Bellefonte donated a water truck to the club to use at the track. The board set a budget of $2,500 to get work done on the truck. The club’s current water truck will eventually be sold at Mark Wisecarver’s sale in the spring.

The club is currently looking for a raffle tractor for 2025.
