Before too long, school will be back in session, and preparations by the school staff are well underway.
At Central High School and the Spring Cove School District, the maintenance department is finishing their summer projects.
The custodial team is finishing deep cleaning of the classrooms and office spaces in all of the district's buildings.
The office staff are busy preparing back-to-school paperwork and sorting all of the supplies that come in during the summer.
They have several teachers come in off and on during the summer to begin their classroom preparations and get their classrooms set up.
As they get closer to the middle of August, there will be more and more of them coming in to do these kinds of things.
Central High School Principal Stephanie Thompson says that any new students in the district need to make an enrollment application on the district website for newly enrolled students if they come from another school district.
The rest of the students don't have to do anything to go back to school. Their homeroom assignments are printed in the Herald.
"We do have meet-the-teacher nights," she said.

Spring Cove School District Athletic Director Stacy Kuster says that they are coordinating fall schedules and getting the rosters prepped and ready.
She says that for the most up-to-date schedule, people can visit the district website http://www.springcovesd.org/athletics.
Kuster would also like to thank the maintenance gentlemen, who went above and beyond to get the field ready.
"That's no easy task - it takes a lot of time," she said. "It has been a very warm summer. They're out there in the hot weather painting all of the fields, making sure of the upkeep and everything."
