Time for "The Big Time"

Honestly, being a Williamsburger, one of the best weeks of the whole year is Farm Show week.

Lucky for us – it begins this Sunday.

Organizers are excited to bring another year of Farm Show fun, food, and agriculture.

There will also be carnival games and amusement rides, which Farm Show organizers are hoping are a big hit with those all coming far and wide for the fair. Some of the highlighted events include:

Sunday: Car Show beginning at 10 a.m. highlighted with an antique pedal tractor display, Jeff Corle music, the Williamsburg Community Farm Show Queen contest beginning at 4 p.m. along with the presentation of the Friend of the Fair award, to close out the evening there will be a Vesper Service with Pastor Matt Roberts at 7 p.m.

Monday: The Blair County Chamber of Commerce will be doing a Grand Opening ceremony at 4 p.m., along with Kids Day with many activities for children including an educational cow to milk, and the musical guest Kenton Sitch band beginning at 6 p.m.

Tuesday: The Youth Livestock Show headlines the day at 9 a.m., followed by Bingo at 5 p.m., and Stephanie and the Wild Hearts at 7 p.m.

Wednesday: Church Service at 6 p.m. along with a Power Wheels race for kids, a Celebrity Milking Contest featuring your favorite Williamsburg Herald correspondent at 6:30 p.m., and Southern Gospel singer Floyd Foster at 7 p.m.

Thursday: Parade forms at Cenveo at 5 p.m., along with the Ag Parade starting at 6 p.m., and Ricky Lee as the nightly entertainment beginning at 7 p.m.; the Grand Marshal of the parade will be Mark Diehl – a former Farm Show board member, and one of the founding fathers of the Farm Show

Friday: Youth Livestock Auction beginning at 6 p.m., the Allegheny Mini Tractor Pulls at 7 p.m., along with musical guest Chris Woodward and Shindiggin’, and closing out the week’s festivities at 9:45 p.m. will be fireworks.

A lot of fun events, and this Herald reporter will have to learn how to milk a cow very quickly for the Celebrity Milking competition.
