Tomato Shipping to Heinz

Tomato shipping from Martinsburg to the H.J. Heinz company is scheduled to begin today, according to Miles C. Whetstone, field man for the company.

Martinsburg will get its greatest “face lifting” in its 117 years this fall, when a town wide tree planting is scheduled, according to final reports at a Shade Tree Committee meeting, Tuesday night.

Morrisons Cove’s most spectacular air show will be held at the Blair County Airport, Martinsburg, Saturday and Sunday, as the grand finale of Altoona’s Centennial Celebration.

A moving picture, “School House in the Red,” a highly recommended film on the problems of reorganizing public school systems, will be shown at the Martinsburg Booster Association meeting, Friday Aug. 11, at Teeter’s Hotel.

A goodly number of dairy farmers in Morrisons Cove made a good record with their cows both in the production of milk and butterfat.
