Dairy Show Returns for the 73rd Year

There are 209 animals entered for the 73rd year of the Morrisons Cove Dairy Show which will be held on July 29-August 2.

The Committee encourages community members to enter exhibits in other departments such as vegetables, farm crops, needlework, floral and more until noon Monday, July 29.

Baked goods can be entered until 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30. Call Central High School at 814-473-5328 for a premium catalog.

All type shows start at 9 a.m. this year with the exception of Friday’s goat show at 9:30 a.m.

The show will be offering four state-sponsored baking contests. These include a Blue Ribbon Apple Pie contest, an angel food cake contest, a home-made chocolate cake contest, and a PA-Preferred cookies/brownies/bars contest for juniors.

Winners of these competitions will be eligible to compete in the 2025 PA Farm Show. Exhibitors are encouraged to carefully review the rules of these special contests in the premium booklet.

Monday, July 29

Cattle and other exhibits in by noon

7 p.m. - Milk Drinking Contest

7:30 p.m. Calf Dressing Contest

Tuesday, July 30

Baked goods entries accepted until 10 a.m.

9 a.m. - Blair/Bedford 4-H/FFA Junior Dairy Show and Showmanship Contest (Judge: Curtis Reichard, Chambersburg, PA)

7:30 p.m. - Youth dairy judging contest

Wednesday, July 31

9 a.m. - Open Colored Breeds Show (Judge: Kelly Barbee, Concord, NC)

7 p.m. - Pie and Ice Cream Festival (public welcome)

7:30 p.m. - Musical entertainment by Jeff Corle

Thursday, August 1

9 a.m. - Open Red/White and Holstein Shows (Judge: Kelly Barbee, Concord, NC)

Approximately 12 noon: Selection of the supreme and reserve supreme animals

Friday, August 2

9:30 a.m. - Goat & Lamb Fun Show
