Garver's Gymcatz Medal in Philly

The Garver Memorial YMCA Gymcatz gymnastic team recently competed in the 2024 YMCA National Gymnastic Championships at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pa.

New to the competiton this year was the Gymcatz Gold Division Team. Kaylee Wallace placed seventh on bars; Devon Coppersmith placed seventh on vault; Laura Wallace placed sixth on beam; Riley Barton placed second on bars, fourth on floor, and seventh all-around; Kendall Swindell placed second on vault, seventh on beam, fifth on floor, and second all-around.

Allie Burket received an honorable mention but was only .05 away from placing.

Gracelyn Carrier was in attendance but did not compete due to an injury.

Competing in the Platinum division: Sydney Allison placed seventh in beam; Emilee Friedenberger placed first in vault; Sarah Disney placed third in vault and beam, sixth in floor, and fourth all-around; Araya Keller placed fourth vault and beam, first in bars, floor and first all-around.

Sage Thomas received an honorable mention in a tough division.

The Platinum team finished the meet placing sixth in the divison.

This is the first year the Garver Gymcatz had such a high number of gymnasts compete and medal.

The team is coached by Head Coach Bethany Kensinger and assistant coaches Krystal Disney, Rachel Allison, Julie Nagy, and Justine Nagy.
