Kenneth "Kenny" Walter

Kenneth "Kenny" Walter, 89, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 14, 2024.

Kenny was the son of David D. and Ruth (Bowser) Walter, born in Salemville, Aug. 22, 1934.

Kenny was the father of two sons: Brian (Tina) and Barry, both of New Enterprise; three grandchildren: Kendra Free (Jason), Hunter Walter, and Olivia Walter; two great-grandsons: Bryson and Jordan Free; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenny was one of 12 children who all preceded him in death; brothers, Daniel, Rudy, Fred and Glen; sisters, Cornelia McCready, Hazel Harker, Lydia Fetter, Pearl Wachter, Jane Whetstone, Dorothy Imler, and an infant sister. He also had a half-sister, Goldie Claar and half-brother, Ralph Burket. Also preceding him in death was a special grandson, Brandon Walter and companion of 30 years, Carol Caron who died in June.

Kenny served his country in the United States Army, 3rd Armored Division, Spearhead, Germany.

Kenny was a class of 1954 graduate of Replogle High School and member of the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren. He was a lifetime-member of the Bedford American Legion Post 113 and the Pleasantville V.F.W. Post 9219.

Kenny loved hunting wildlife and mushrooms, fishing, and wintering in Florida with Carol.

At request of the deceased, a private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family; Pastor Paul Snyder presiding. Inurnment will be in Burger Cemetery, Salemville.
