Plans for Septic Area of Thomas Wareham Trucking Must be Revised

During the Taylor Township July Supervisors’ meeting, it was determined by township engineer Greg Geishauser that revised plans must be made to the septic area of Thomas Wareham Trucking in order to get township approval. The stormwater issue must be addressed, Geishauser said, before going any further.

There can be no breaking of ground prior to township approval. Geishauser proposed waiting until next month’s board meeting before taking any action, although builders may be ready to move forward now.There must also be approval from the Department of Environmental Protection.

Mitch Fredrick asked for and received permission to make three land parcels into four. It was approved because each parcel met the minimum requirement of 2 acres.

Pleasant View Farms is changing their plans to include adding a manure pit. They are submitting a plan to get township approval. The board approved advertising their Solar Ordinance motion so it can be adopted next month.

The township is adding a noise clause to its nuisance ordinance, and they will advertise that in order to adopt it next month.

Their were four burning permits issued last month by the township and one land usage permit. There were no requests in June for subdivisions.

Manager Timothy Laird, during his road work report, said there were many sewer washouts on road edges in the township that were being repaired. There was also a great deal of summer blacktopping ongoing and filling of potholes. He reported there is still work being done on township truck 1.

The township secretary announced the recycling renewal fee would stay at $30 per year. She also advised getting the Public Safety Answering Point ( PSAP) book . The supervisors agreed to ordering one to look at and then ordering one for every board member if it is worthwhile.

The township had a donation request from EMAP, a non profit organization that helps those with cancer by supplying wigs and other items. The supervisors will examine this closer.

Friendship Volunteer Fire Co. reported that all was going well and they have been active. Faith Assembly Church is being primed to be an emergency center for the area, they are waiting for the Federal Emergency Management Association to let them know everything needed to become an emergency center. The financial report and list of bills were approved. There was an executive session prior to the township meeting on legal matters and ordinance adoptions.

The next Taylor Township Supervisors meeting has been scheduled for August 5 at 6:00p.m. at the Municipal Building.
