RS Seeks Army Tank

At the request of the American Legion, Roaring Spring Borough Council Monday night approved the acquisition of an Army tank to be placed near the railroad station as a memorial to area veterans.

Williamsburg Borough Council will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, July 19, to open bids on the East First Street sewer replacement project.

The Blair County Airport Authority learned at a meeting this week that there is a move underway to name an official route to the airport.

The Bedford County Arts Center is holding its fifth annual Garden Art exhibit at the Bedford County Arts Center in Anderson House, 137 E. Pitt St., Bedford.

Claysburg won two games on Saturday to claim the championship of the Martinsburg Little League Tournament. Gallitzin finished in second place, and Everett took third.

The NBC School Board approved textbook purchases and a three-year contract with a yearbook publication firm at its June 28 meeting.
