Morrisons Cove Agriculture Parade Returns July 9

Morrisons Cove Agricultural Parade will be returning again for the year on Tuesday, July 9.

The families of Jeanie Bolger and Dan Hershberger will be the co-marhsalls of the parade.

John Bolger, the son of Jeanie said their family is glad to be co-marshalls with the Hershbergers.

“We grew up in the same community and attend the same church — we’ve known each other our whole lives,” he said.

Bolger said the parade has always been a big deal in the area.

“It is great to see the community come together and get to see old friends,” he said.

Mary Hershberger, said her husband Dan was a very humble person and would have been embarrassed.

“He didn’t do things for recognition, he just did what needed to be done,” she said.

Hershberger said getting the recognition is not their thing either but they are still honored.

“We are very honored, and it is going to be a great time with family and friends,” she said.

Hershberger said her first grandson will be attending the parade for the first time.

McCoy’s Equipment in Roaring Spring will be the honoree.

“We are very honored to be doing this,” Brian McCoy said.

Betty McCoy said the store started in 1978 with just her husband Brian and one other person.

Since then the business has grown, and they now have about nine employees.

“We feel very privileged and overwhelmed by the support of the community,” she said.

Betty said all of their employees will be in a parade and will be riding different types of equipment.

She said there will also be about 18 family members in the parade.

The Ag parade committee would like to invite participants to join the procession, and ask those interested to be in line by 5:30 p.m.

The parade will start promptly at 6 p.m.
