Bedford County native Leah Shackley came up short in the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Shackley said that she is completely proud of how she handled such a long meet.
“With such a long meet, you have so many ups and downs. Your emotions are never the same — so, everyday is different, “ she said.
Shackley began Saturday night June 15 by competing in the women’s 100-meter butterfly. She finished sixth in her semi-final heat in 58.44 out of the eight competitors and did not qualify for Sunday night’s final.
