Memorial Picnic Opens

The arts and crafts show, planned as a special event for the annual Morrisons Cove Memorial Picnic, opens Thursday at Memorial Park, Martinsburg. The week-long celebration opened Monday with family skating, a tennis tournament and rides for youngsters. Rides and concessions will be available for the public throughout the week.
Heavy rains over the weekend are expected to cause a further rise in the level of Raystown Lake.
The Blair County Easter Seal Society, Inc. saw 425 clients and gave 1,317 treatments in the month of May.
More than $1,000 was raised for the Williamsburg Community Center in a bike-a-thon held Sunday, June 30.
For the tenth consecutive year, the theme, “Be Alive on July Five” will be used over the July 4 holiday in a joint safety effort between the Pennsylvania American Legion and the State Transportation Department.
