Fishing Derby Is a Success

The annual Roaring Spring Fishing Derby was held last Saturday at Spring Dam Park, and it was declared a success by organizers. There were 188 children registered to fish, and there were 131 trout caught.

Altoona Community Theatre is offering workshops for children and teenagers this summer. The drama workshops help the students build self-expression, self-confidence and concentration skills through a variety of theatre games and improvisational exercises.
UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital held its 1999 “Chili Open” golf fund-raising event on Saturday, June 5, at Down River Golf Course in Everett. The event raised over $5,000, which will be used by the hospital foundation to improve health care services in Bedford.
