Honoring Those Who Have Fallen

The Blair County Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Foundation Inc. is an organization committed to honor and remember our fallen men and women in Law Enforcement. These men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the safety and wellbeing of the citizens of Blair County.

The creation of the organization followed the “in the line-of-duty death” of Blair Township Patrolman Ronald J. Turek in 1985. Following that sad day, friends, family, and colleagues of Patrolman Turek began planning efforts to create what is now the Blair County Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Foundation Inc.

With great support, the founders of the organization have achieved the goal of a physical memorial. A partnership with then Blair County Board of Commissioners, the memorial foundation was able to erect a physical memorial, located at the front of the Blair County Courthouse. The Law Enforcement Memorial currently displays two panels listing the 13 names honoring those who have served this county and, during their career, gave the ultimate sacrifice.

The Blair County Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial Foundation hosts an annual memorial service to honor those listed on the memorial. Additionally, our organizations honors those lost the previous year across Pennsylvania in the line of duty. It is important to the organization to do our part to educate the community on the importance of remember and honoring those who died protecting OUR communities.

This year, we will be honoring our fallen brothers and sisters, Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 6pm in front of the courthouse in Hollidaysburg, Pa. We would like to encourage the community to come out and join us as we honor those who gave all for our protection.

If you would be interested in how you can become involved in the organization. If you know of any law enforcement killed in the line of duty, who served Blair County during their career, but not listed on our wall, contact us to provide information that we can research and add them to honored for their sacrifice at http://www.bcleomf.org or message us on face book.

Thank you for allow our organization the time to share with the community what our organization is, and why we are committed to honoring those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
