Martinsburg Community Library Holds Book Sale

The community and friends of Martinsburg Community Library came out to support their book sale on Thursday, May 23 at Morrisons Cove Park. The book sale lasted the entire day and brought in an abundance of patrons. All proceeds from the event will go towards the library.

Friends and members of the library alike were involved to help make the book sale happen. Sue Blanchard, the woman running the sale, has been helping out at the cause for two years.

“The community benefits because they get books at good prices that they can read and share, and the library benefits,” she said.

All books were donated and dropped off at the cattle barn at the Park starting two days before the sale. Hundreds of books were available to buy at the event, including many genres ranging from fiction to inspirational. Additionally, DVDs and CDs were also for sale. All leftover books will be donated to Goodwill.

Peggy Steinfurth, another volunteer helping out, said how they “appreciate the community’s support of the library by coming to the sale and donating books.”

Both volunteers were sincerely grateful for everyone who supported the book sale. They wanted to thank the Park for providing a venue for the occasion and thank everyone who donated and worked.
