J. Steven Fisher

Martinsburg

J. Steven Fisher, 70, of rural Martinsburg, passed away Saturday morning, May 18, 2024, at UPMC Altoona.

He was born Jan. 11, 1954, in Roaring Spring, son of Betty J. (Keith) Fisher and the late John Calvin Fisher. On Jan. 27, 1979, he married LuAnn Taylor in Hollidaysburg.

He is survived by his beloved wife, LuAnn of 45 years; three children: Derek S. Fisher (Elisia) of rural Martinsburg, Kelsey L. Fisher (Misti) of rural Martinsburg and Lani A. Black (Robbie) of Claysburg; eight grandchildren: McKaela G. Fisher (Kamden Rhodes), Cohen J. Fisher, Kaden D. Fisher, Lane R. Black, Ellie J. Fisher, Lawson J. Black, Keegan J. Fisher and Lennox T. Black; a great-grandchild expected soon; and two sisters: Regina G. Blattenberger (Lynn) and Chrissy A. Fisher both of Martinsburg.

Steve was a 1972 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg. He drove truck locally for numerous businesses throughout the Cove including: E.F. Smith and Barry Smith. He also worked as a lineman for Blattenberger Line Construction. Steve retired as a fuel hauler from B.C.O. with more than 30 years of service and was currently driving a delivery truck for the United States Postal Service.

He was a member of Roaring Spring VFW Post 7689, Roaring Spring American Legion Post 147 and the Saxton Sportsmen Association.

He loved spending time and vacationing with his family. Steve also enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing, watching NASCAR, going to dirt track races and hanging out with his buddies.

Friends will be received from 10 until 11 a.m., Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Redefined Community Church (Morrisons Cove Memorial Park Banquet Facility) where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Chris Garretson will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Steve may be given to Redefined Community Church, 201 S. Walnut St., Suite A, Martinsburg, PA 16662 or Cove Cause for Cancer, 343 Ponderosa Lane, Roaring Spring, PA 16673.
