Wburg Lions Mark 60 Years

The Williamsburg Lions Club celebrated its 60th anniversary at a charter banquet at the Williamsburg Community Farm Show Building.
Members of the Church Council at the Upper Claar Church of the Brethern approved a $424,000 building proposal. The plan called for an activity building measuring 72 by 36 with a 17-foot ceiling to be used recreational use. It included a kitchen and restrooms. The proposal also included an expansion to the church building with an enlarged fellowship hall and chancel, six new classrooms, a pastor’s office, nursery facilities and much more.
Julie Whysong of Roaring Spring was awarded a juris doctor degree from the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Va. She received the distinct honor of being ranked first in her class.
A Meals-on-Wheels program to more than 32 shut-ins in the Southern Cove is to began on a one-day-a-week basis.
