School Consolidation Proposed

The need for better school equipment and matters of educational interest in the four district schools was discussed by 75 North Woodbury citizens. The deplorable conditions and repair costs of some of the 40-year-old buildings in North and South Martinsburg, Middletown, and Millerstown led the group to consider a proposal of consolidation in one building that would precede the special election. Remaining neutral, the local board stood ready to carry out the wishes of the majority of township voters.

Heavy rain storms raised streams considerably, causing Waterside cellars to fill to a depth of 22 inches.

E.I. Isenberg started workmen digging the foundation for his brick-cased residence to be built on Julian Street, Martinsburg.
