Dragon Baseball Downs Rams

In two matches this week, the Dragon Baseball team found one victory over the Penns Valley Rams with a score of 7-6. An 8-3 loss befell the Dragons earlier in the week, however, to the Clearfield Bison.

Against the Bison, the Dragons started the game off well with a 3-1 lead after four innings of play. However, the Bison were able to rally back with four runs in the fifth inning and three in the sixth. A scoreless seventh inning ended the game with a loss for the Dragons. Despite only giving up four hits to the Bison, the Dragons still ended the night with a loss. Griffin Snowberger and Lukas Black both had two hits for the Dragons.

Against the Rams, the Dragons had better luck, despite starting the game in a 5-1 deficit after three innings. The Dragons rallied to lead by one after four with five runs in the fourth. One more run from each team in the sixth secured the Dragon victory. Coltin Harbaugh was the winning pitcher, striking out 10. Mason Byler came in with the save, striking out two as well. Jay Hoenstine had two hits, three RBIs and two runs scored. Britton Marko added two hits and Wyatt Dilling had a triple to drive in two runs for the Dragons.

This week puts the Dragons record at 14-5 as they prepare to head into playoffs in the upcoming week with an opponent to be determined.
