A few months ago, Catharine Township purchased a 2012 International truck with the knowledge that the truck needed a total engine repair; during Thursday evening’s meeting, it was announced that repairs were going to cost more than originally estimated. The township purchased the truck for $6100, and now, the estimate for the engine and labor would be roughly $17,000 with Catharine already putting $10,000 into it for repairs. Supervisors discussed whether it would be worth it to continue, and after reading some values of how much the truck is worth – Vice Chairman Ken Brenneman made the motion to continue with the engine repairs with Ralph Rispoli seconding, motion passed.
In his Roadmaster report, Michael Fay discussed the start of the mowing season for the township and that the Township was still waiting on a permit from DEP (Department of Environmental Protection) with regard to Hemlock drainage installation.
Chairman Heather Flaig said the township received the sediment and erosion plan from the Farm Show Board.
