Martha K. Oswald

Martha K. Oswald, 100, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away, Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata, after a brief illness.

She was born Jan. 14, 1924, in Streetsboro, Ohio, daughter of the late Eugene and Esther (Miller) Yoder.

On June 12, 1948, she married Marcus Oswald. He preceded her in death Nov. 24, 2001.

She is survived by five children: Roger Oswald (Laura) of Williamsburg, Rick Oswald (Brenda) of Berryville, Ark., Steve Oswald of Ephrata, Tom Oswald (Janet) of Altoona, and Julie Stoltzfus (Jerry) of Narvon; ten grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angie Bretzlaff of Illinois, a daughter-in-law, Dawn Oswald of Ephrata, and her sister, Mary Hertzler of Scottdale Pa.

Martha enjoyed making cards and blessed so many people over the years with her homemade cards. She volunteered for many years at Worlds Attic, Somerset. After moving from Blair County to Lancaster County she volunteered at the Re-Uzit Shop in Morgantown for several years.

She loved to read her bible and was a faithful prayer warrior. Martha enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working puzzles and always had a welcoming smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, a devoted wife, mother, and friend, always thinking of others first.

A funeral took place Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Fairmount Homes, Farm Crest Chapel, Ephrata. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg, Pastor Joe Furry will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Fairmount Homes, Sharing Fund, 333 Wheat Ridge Rd., Ephrata, PA 17522.
